Status/Occupation:
Reptilian Changeling Council Representative
Appearance:
General Features; Her general stature is five foot seven. Like all fae, Aranel has pointed ears, flawless skin, and seems to just be radiant in appearance. Her face is oval with high-cheekbones and sharp features. Her cheeks have a tiny bit of a rosy complexion. She's rather slim and frail since she's not a fighter in any way. Even at her much older age, Aranel still appears like a woman in her mid-thirties. Her lips are thin and her nose fits well in proportion with the rest of her facial features. Because she is connected to Aquatic Dragons, Aranel has a blue-ish hue to her fair skin complexion. Her fingers and toes are fully-webbed, making swimming a breeze for her, and there are patches of teal scales around her shoulders, forearms, and back.
On her left arm is a small and very stylish dragon tattoo, resembling an aquatic most of all. She has no scars on her body and has a flat-ish chest.
Hair; Aranel's hair is associated with the animal she is influenced by, which is Aquatic Dragons. Since they can sometimes have the base color of black, her hair is silky, wavy, and is that base color as well. It is rather long and reaches down to her middle back. It is rarely ever oily or dirty since she always swims in water, so it is always relatively clean.
Eyes; Her eyes are rather basic, nothing truly special. They are a common shade of blue, much like an ocean blue when the sun is shrouded by clouds and almond in shape.
Clothes; Fae tend to enjoy silks quite a bit, and this is what Aranel normally wears. Blue and gold silks are her favorite, and sometimes she enjoys green or brown. They are normally full-dresses, reaching down all the way to her ankles. On her head, she has a bronze, metallic accessory that acts like a hair band. In the center of it is a beautiful sapphire. There is another accesory she prefers to wear, and arm band around her left arm, a little below her dragon tattoo.
Weapons; She keeps no weapons on her. Aranel likes to stray away from violence, so she carries no weapons herself.
Pets:
Orophin; Orophin is a juvinile aquatic dragon (around seven years of age) that is bonded to Aranel. He is twenty-five in height and is purely a dark-teal and sapphire color. His tail is a little bit longer than normal for Aquatic Dragons, but other than that he is no different from the rest. He is able to spit out boiling hot water and only enjoys Aranel's company. He becomes jealous of anyone that speaks to her. He will snap, charge, and possibly bite at anyone that is not her.
Fen'harel; Fen'harel is a beautiful and massive Freisian Legacy (eight-legged horse). He lives up to the Lagacy expectation in swiftness, intelligence, and companionship. He was a gift to Aranel by Tataryn.
Personality:
Compassionate; Aranel is a very gentle and kind woman. She loves everything and everyone to start out with. She is willing to help the smallest creature, the youngest or oldest being; depending on what it is they need help with. It is nearly impossible to make her hate someone.
Pacifist; Many do not like her anti-fighting characteristic, but she does not let this phase her beliefs and values. Aranel is not and will probably not ever hurt someone, including animals. If such a time were to come where she would need to use force, she would feel extremely guilty and would not forgive herself for quite some time.
Cultural; After living for as many centuries as she has, this fae woman likes to keep to certain traditions and continue passing down the fae’s cultural lifestyle to any young fae children or fae adults she comes across. She tends to speak the elven language a lot due to this and will often repeat what she meant in the language in the common tongue to someone that does not know the fae’s words. This also means she follows the fae’s general rules and customs, as well as being loyal to the fae council.
Child at Heart; Despite her age, Aranel is anything but an adult. At times, when she needs to be, she can be assertive and demanding. But this is rare and so most of the time, she tends to have the attention span and the curiosity of a child. Acting like an adult all the time seems boorish to her, so she does not mind having a bit of fun and taking some risks when she is able.
One With Nature; After years and years of being forced to be perfect, Aranel no longer enjoys being in places that are not the forests. She loves to be surrounded by plants and animals, specifically dragons. There are only few times when she needs to be around other people.
Scholarly; At a young age, this fae woman used to read information, tales, and legends of dragons in books. After becoming an adult, she goes out into the wild, locates, studies, and sometimes even interacts with the dragons herself. She knows much about most of the different species and loves to speak about them. She is always willing to learn more about them as well and the legends they create.
History:
Aranel had cold parents. They loved their beautiful daughter, but hardly ever showed it. They were always pushing her to be her best, scolding her and punishing her if she ever slacked off or whined about reading or writing. Even when they did this, Aranel still became nothing like her parents and grew to be a kind and gentle person who loved to be around others.
Life simply went on for the reptillian changeling. Her parents were her mentors on general knowledge. She stayed with them for quite a while, but soon lost interest being in the same place all the time. So she left the mound at the age of thirty-five, deciding to explore the wonders of the world.
Aranel traveled to many places; from the Forest of the Fae, to the Northern Tangle. From there to the Boil. And, after improving her charm ability, even explored the City. The most exciting place she visited though was the Cliffs.
At the base of the cliffs, at what appeared to be a small lake, Aranel saw her first dragon. She was utterly amazed by the creature and instantly grew to love them. The dragon was a full grown, elderly aquatic. Every day, for quite a while, she would go to the lake and observe the large creature. She even grew bold once and approached the elderly dragon with nothing but compassion and interest. The dragon knew she was watching him, so he did not shy away from the fae. Instead, he allowed her to ride on his back, be around him, and even stroke him. He gave his trust to Aranel, and she named him Dartel.
He truly was an elderly dragon though, for he passed on soon after. For a few nights, Aranel grieved, even though she knew it was only the way of life. After a few days, she left the cliffs and decided to do something with her life.
At around her 300's, Elaine felt the need to satisfy her constant lust. So she turned to being a prostitute, though she never stayed in one place. Of course, whenever she was in the City, Aranel had to make herself appear like a human, but that was the only time that she did so. The City was her last choice to provide any entertainment since it was crawling with humans that hated fae with a fiery passion.
Elaine only did this for a brief time, then decided to do something else. She never truly found anything though, so she kept to wandering and exploring. Occasionally, she would go back to prostituting, but it never became a set occupation.
One day, when she was searching for aquatic dragons within the tangle, she came across an egg cluster. Truly, she could have not arrived to it at a perfect time, for at that moment one of the eggs hatched and looked upon her with its sapphire eyes, instantly bonding to the fae. She named him Orophin, and has had him ever since.
Recently: Aranel stopped her traveling and involved herself in fae politics. Not long after, she became the reptilian changeling council member and acts as their representative.
