Introduction
Thorn has many, many scrolls and journal entries on the different fauna he has come across in Litharia. Some of them he has very little information on, some of them he has years worth of information. Studying Fauna is his passion and life's work. His journal also includes meeting these fauna from his perspective, and not just information on them.

Common Wyvern These creatures are dangerous, but really fun to watch! I’ve had extensive experience with these guys, most of it in the books and some in person. They’re like this neat mix of bird and lizard, I’m not really sure how else to describe them. From what I’ve gathered, they are many, many species of wyvern in litharia. Litharia is huge, so there’s this infinite number of fauna out there and I intend on using my life time to discover them. Anyways, so here’s the thing. Common wyverns were one of the first animals I ever studied. So, I figured, it’s only fair that I write about them first! These specific type of wyverns I’ve seen all over the place, and I’ve concluded that they’re all one species of wyvern.
Name:Common Wyvern
Lifespan: Around 500 years, give or take
Breeding: Have very uniform male and female species. Seem to breed in the winter time and lay eggs just as the winter is over. Clutches range from 4-5 eggs and, on average, two survive. It’s not uncommon for the parents to have a spat over food and for one to kill the other in the process.
Males: Smaller than the females. Only have two legs, a set of wings. Seen some varieties with their tails. Some act like clubs, others are flat and spiny. I’ve even seen a rare mutation where males don’t have tails! After some trials with that specific type of male, I’ve concluded the mutation created a gene that’s overwhelmingly dominant. Average height is about 15 feet for males. Length varies greatly. They have very powerful wings for flight that have a huge wingspan. The largest I’ve recorded was 45 feet. Males had spines along their heads, necks, and backsides that they can rattle. These are used to fight, intimidate, and attract females. Colors are rather dull. Never seen anything other than browns, grays, and sometimes blacks. White is a recessive and very rare trait. The bigger their keels, the more females find them interesting.
Females: Bigger than the males. Again, only have two legs and a set of wings. Very, very powerful animals. Their wings are useless and they can’t fly far, but the strength in their legs makes up for loss ground. Their feet are arguably more dangerous than their mouths from the sheer strength they offer. Tails don’t have anything special like clubs or spines. They’re bare at the ends. Average height is about 25 feet. They have a common genetic trait that makes their wings grotesque and deformed. Females kill other females except their own young. Share similar colors to males with browns and grays, but have more patterns such as stripes and dots.
Behavior: Aggressive towards each other, less so towards people. They were apprehensive when I was in the vicinity, but as long I didn’t get too close they paid no attention to me. If you do get too close, males will rattle their spines. Males and males will fight a lot, but not normally to the death. Females fighting each other will continue till their enemy is in pieces on the floor. Sometimes they will even eat them. The young start off aggressive too. It’s not rare for siblings to eat each other. These do not seem tamable and are everywhere. They tend to be more of a big menace to humans and fae than anything else.
No signs of sentience.
