Appearance:
Roy looks very young. His complexion is a pale red, like Moroccan red clay, which comes from his family of battle golems. It appears very smooth, but with damage will appear cracked similar to how clay would if it was damaged. Their average height is 5’7”, and Roy is above that at 6’2”. The training and practice he does is not centered around brute strength, but more on agility. This can be seen with his lean, flexible body form. His face is rectangular; his jaw is both defined, but slightly rounded. The shape of his eyes are monolid, while their color is gold. Like most daemons, they are very bright. He likes to keep his hair short and out of his eyes, so the ends of his hair will hang just above them. His hair is a light bRoyn with natural blonde mixed in.His fangs are just a touch longer than normal, thought he rarely uses them. What Roy uses more often are his claws, which are black thus giving his nails a natural black color. They are not what he uses in his gladiatorial matches unless he has to. Roy is a sort of ‘jack of all trades’ and can decently use a few different weapons, such as a straight sword, broadsword, axe, bow, and javeline. What he truly excels at is using a halberd. He uses one that has been passed down his family for many generations. The shaft was made from an old, old oak tree and looks old, but well taken care of. Carved into the wood along the base and top of the shaft are images of wyverns, all in different states of life and poses. The metal itself is hardened steel. The blade, as well as the point of the halberd, are primarily composed of chromium. The physical color of the chromium is darker than the steel. Though he uses this weapon frequently, Roy will use other halberds if need be.
For jewelry, Roy has a piercing in the upper part of his right lobe and a ring he wears on his right ring finger. The ring is a family heirloom, while the earring was from his brief time as a slave. Roy is not rich and cannot afford good clothing. Good clothing is mostly useless for him anyways because of his time in the ring, thus what he wears will vary and can range from almost anything, to nothing.
Pets:
Comet; Comet is a 230 year old female Northern Tangle Wyvern. She is about ten feet in height and has a wingspan of thirty feet. Like all wyverns, she only has four limbs in total and not six. Her back legs are her primary use of walking and are very powerful. They help her lift off and are even useful for attacking. Her other set of limbs are her wings, which are only used for flight and can be the weakest point on her body. Most of her body is covered in rectangular scales, the thickest and widest being around her keel, head, shoulders, and tail. The parts of her body not covered in scales, such as the underside of her tail, her belly, and around her hip joints, are covered in a thick, leathery hide.
Her colors are designed to camouflage her in the tangle. All her scales are a darker shade of green. The parts of her body that are not covered by scales are a light tan color with some patches of bRoyn. Outside of the tangle she’s easily spotted, but within she kind quickly conceal herself among the trees. She is mated with a male northern tangle wyvern.
Personality:
Roy is pretty calm for a daemon in most circumstances. He tends to have higher levels of aggression since he spends most of his time killing combatants, challengers, and creatures in gladiatorial arenas, but he’s patient with other people. What’s meant by higher levels of aggression is that, when his tolerance is met, he resorts straight to violence instead of negotiations or talking. This also means he is very confrontational about any problems he has with someone or something.
He us quite open about his life with others and doesn't hold back information on himself very often. Roy has some level of charm, but this stems more-so from his open and welcoming personality rather than being a trait itself. The level of self-pride he has for his success at combat in arenas is one of his biggest downfalls. Even though he judges people individually rather than a whole, he does have a lot of pride as a daemon and looks down on most other species, especially humans, though he rarely openly admits it. That and he does have a basic form of loyalty to the daemons, but not enough to put himself at risk.
Any fighting to the death pumps Roy up, but he gets a lot of enjoyment out of sparring with others too. Most of it comes from being a battle golem, as all his magic is surrounded with that very concept, but a lot of that appreciation and obsession with combat came from his family as well. His pride will get the better of him in combat situations and has nearly cost him his life/matches in the past. It also prevents him from learning new skills very readily from other people, despite his open personality.
At times, Roy stumbles over his words and can be awkward in some social situations. Additionally, he knows how to read and write in the daemon language, but can only read some things/cannot write in the common tongue. Dyslexia makes it even harder for him to understand anything written down in the common tongue, but he can speak it and understand it just fine.
Lastly, he has a strong emotional attachment to Comet since she has been with him for more than two hundred years. He is very protective of her, though she is fully capable of protecting herself. He has no shame bringing her into cRoyded areas despite how much room she takes up. Comet is also used to help him travel from one place to another due to her fast running speed and flight.

History:
Roy was born and raised in the dream land. Both his mother and father were proud battle golems who strove for power and strength. Since he was born, Roy was held up to high expectations. Out of his two older sisters, he was believed to be the weakest strictly because he was the youngest. Even as at a young age, Roy was extremely competitive and took the way his family looked down on him as a challenge.
At first, he looked for a mentor within the Dream Land. The man that taught him to fight had more expertise with using natural daemon weapons, such as their fangs and claws. Roy would presently define him as stereotypical daemon; powerful and dangerous, but not refined or even graceful with the way he taught combat. After his time with that mentor, his family required that Roy and his sisters undergo a test of endurance, strength, and willpower. They were to sell themselves into slavery and find a way out of it, by themselves. If they succeeded, their parents would consider them their children.
Finding someone to buy him as a slave was a bit of a challenge itself since daemons did not normally keep them. Eventually he found a daemon man that eagerly purchased him. For five long years, Roy was a slave to the daemon man named Evictus. He endured many hardships, including intense physical labor, abuse, and acting as violent entertainment. There was a time when he forgot why he was a slave to begin with and nearly lost himself. But one day something clicked, and he remembered that he had a goal to fulfill, and a point to prove to his awful family.
On their way to Ngar'li, they ran into three other daemons. The daemons picked on Roy’s master, and Roy took that chance to earn his freedom. He made the move to kill Evictus, but he turned out to be a lot stronger than anticipated. The man not only managed to kill the other three daemons, but decided Roy was more trouble than he was worth and had nearly killed him, were it not for a nomadic daemon that just happened upon the squabble.
Nearly on the brink of death, Roy was saved by a daemon named Gabriel, who was traveling with another daemon at the time. Being saved was unintentional since his now-dead master had tried to kill the nomads as well and that was why the nomads killed Evictus, but Roy was grateful regardless. Even though he was in no shape to fight, Roy could not tell he was at his breaking point since he could not feel anything. He challenged the other daemon to a sparring match and lost horribly. It was the extra inspiration that Roy needed to remind himself that all the shitty things he went through was for a purpose.
When he returned to his family, they were still not convinced he was worth much, but they at least did not disown him for failing to escape slavery.
Around his early 100’s, Roy and his family decided to cross through the portal and leave the Dream Land. He separated shortly after crossing with them so that he could be apprenticed to something other than a daemon. He came across a shifter woman that was a jack of all trades. She was a master with almost every weapon she used, and Roy was so eager to learn from her. He was not just out of the woods yet though, and she, like his family, required him to act as a slave to prove his worth. She was more specific with her instructions; In order to officially be trained, he needed to start from the ground up in a gladitorial arena. In other words, Roy had to start from the bottom and literally fight his way to freedom.
That form of slavery was easier and a little more invigorating for Roy. He was only a slave for months in an arena before he gained his freedom. The shifter woman, Matilda, then accepted him as an apprentice.
After his training, he returned to his family and challenged his sisters to fight. For the name of power, his family would never accept him if he did not kill them, and kill them he did. Roy felt little remorse because they tormented him so much as a child, but he did not celebrate their deaths either. With that, his father handed down to him their only family keepsake, a well-made halberd. For a time, Roy returned to Matilda to refine his abilitieswith the halberd, and after years of training he became an expert with it.
Fighting was what he was good at and life was boring with out it, so he decided to voluntarily return to fighting in gladiatorial arenas. At 130, he met Comet and purchased her from a black market street vendor. The man convinced Roy to buy her because he exclaimed she had many uses, such as being able to be ridden and used for combat. Their animal to daemon relationship was very rocky for the first thirty years, but she warmed up to him eventually.
Roy continues to take part in gladiatorial competitions.
