Doshaan Gods and Goddesses
The Doshaan have many, many Gods and Goddesses. In their beginning, they did not believe in the existence of the Litharian gods. No one knew when their religion came into being. It's been shrouded in mystery ever since the old man came to their dying home, and yet they still held their faith. Over time, the religion has adapted and two different factions have emerged from the sisters. There are those that believe like the original sisters, where the Litharian gods are not real. Only the Doshaan gods exist, and nothing else. The other faction makes up most of the sister. They believe that the Litharian gods do exist. Instead of them being separate entities from their own gods, the Litharian gods are manifestations of the Doshaan gods. Due to their immortality and power, the Doshaan can appear and act however they wish, as well as claim to be whoever they want to be. Akir shares this more common belief. Let's get to the gods of the Doshaan now!
Tuutak (Translation: Sun Father)
Tuutak existed before anything else and was always sleeping. Instead of the universe being nothing but darkness, it was pure light. Tuutak created many things when he woke for the first time and bore many children without contraception. His children came from his thoughts, laughter, and ribs. These, along with Naatak's children, were the First Ten. The First Ten were the first of the gods and goddesses.
After creation, Tuutak drifted away from the world and returned to an eternal slumber. His subconscious still exists, thus the existence of light continues to exist as well.
Naatak (Translation: Nyx or the Night Mother)
Naatak was the darkness that came from Tuutak's light. When he removed a piece of the light from the universe, darkness filled the space and thus Naatak was created. She too was a creator with Tuutak, and bore children without sleeping with Tuutak. Her children came from her rage, collar bones, and breast and they too made up the First Ten. After creation, Naatak left with Tuutak and went into an eternal slumber. Like her counterpart, Naatak's subconscious mind still exists and, wherever there is light, there is also darkness.
Suva
Born from Naatak's breast, Suva was the first of the ten. The goddess of shadows and stealth, Suva was considered to be a gentle, but manipulative entity. All creatures of the night were born from her. Her most sacred animals are bats, coyotes, and chinchillas.
Xeprhe
Also from Naatak's, Xerphe was born from her rage. He is the god of war, pain, aggression, and strategy. Anytime there is war, it is said that Xerphe is arguing with his brother, Tintuuk. Xephre's sacred animal are dogs, wolves, eagles, and wargs.
Anberrn
Anbernn also came from Naatak's rage in a way. He appeared when her rage subsided, thus Anbernn became the god of anything and everything that stood for peace, prosperity, and moral. When there is war in the mortal world, it is because Anbernn and Xerphe are arguing. Anberrn's animals are doves, phoenixes.
Val, Tabutha, Danzey
The biggest trouble makers of all the gods, they were all born at the same time from Tuutak's plucked ribs. These three are shape shifters that can change into anything and everything they want, including the appearance of other gods.
Val prefers the form of a raven and stands for trickery, wisdom, and lies.
Tabutha takes the form of a dog, standing for loyalty, courage, and compassion.
Danzey prefers the form of a shark, standing for strength, agility, and willpower.
All three are tricksters despite what they stand for, and have been known to severely mess with other gods' and mortals' lives. These are also the gods that give rise to almost all magical creatures, save for those born from Suva.
Sertakyine (Translation: Serpentine)
Sertakyine is the goddess of many things. She is primarily worshiped as the goddess of death, killing, and violence. She is the one that accepts sacrifices from the Doshaan, and whom they primarily sacrifice in the name of. Serkatyine has sacred animals, namely snakes, dragons, crocs/alligators, and arachnids like scorpions, spiders, ect. She is constantly depicted as a human snake. Additionally she is considered the goddess of life, fertility, and sexuality. She came from Nataak's collar bones.
Stashtu
A twin of Sertakyine and born from the other collar bone of Nataak, Stashtu is the god of borders, protection, and barriers. He is the one that keeps the oasis alive by channeling the blood spilled in Sertakyine's name. Sacred animals include turtles and cape buffaloes.
Tytus
God of the seas, both of water and of sand. Protector of the Boil. It is believed that Tytus keeps the Boil free from any major political invaders. Has sacred animals that act as his eyes and ears, including vultures, jackals, manticores, and basilisks.
Khanzki
Goddess of natural disasters, such as sand storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, blizzards, ect. She is also the goddess of order, nature, and balance. Out of all the gods and goddesses, she is the only one that refuses to interact with any mortals, no matter what. Disasters happen as she fights with the other gods in the name of order and balance, as she does not believe they should have any influence or interactions with the mortals. The more furious her wrath, the more intense disasters are. She has no sacred animals. She was the last of the original ten.
Others
There are many other gods and goddesses, all children or children's children of the ones mentioned above. They are all relatively minor in comparison however, and none are as important as those mentioned above. Some may be mentioned in this journal later.
